When buying an outdoor cat house the size is very important make sure that it is not too big and is only big enough to allow your cat to comfortably lie down and turn around in it.
If you buy a cathouse that is too big, the warmth produced by the cat’s body heat will be quickly dissipated, actually making the sides of the cat house colder.

Only go for the slightly larger houses if you own multiple cats, or a very large cat.

The ones that last longer are the cedar wood cat houses with thermal-ply insulation in the walls, floor and ceiling.

As far as features go, no matter what be the material they are made of, the cat house must be waterproof, durable and have ventilation vents in the roof or back of the unit.

I just moved from the middle of the country to the West Coast with my menagerie of animals. I needed to find a good pet store, but really didn’t want to have to go through the gigantic search that I went through the last time I moved. Checked out reviews of pet stores on the web and sure enough, I found a great store, with a large stock, and good customer service. They are pet friendly too and welcome my cold-blooded friends as well as the warm-blooded ones. Actually just came back from picking up dog food, rabbit pellets, and frozen rats. Glad I’ve got a place to grocery shop for my buddies.

It’s completely understandable if you’re a pet lover. I think the majority of us are. Okay, with the exception of my barber, who gave his dog to the pound when he had new carpet put in his home. OUCH, that’s pretty darn harsh. What must the old K-9 think of him? But, as for most of us, we treat our cats and dogs like family. They lounge on the living room couch, sit next to the table while we eat dinner, Sleep at the foot of our beds, and even kick back in the Jacuzzi with us. Okay, maybe that’s just at my house. Anyway, one aspect of owning a K-9 that we mustn’t forget is dog collars and leashes. Protect your dogs!

Let’s ponder the notion of dog collars and leashes. Why should your K-9 have a collar around his neck? Well, it’s pretty obvious if you ask me. The collar will have his/her name and phone number on it just in case the dog runs off or gets lost outdoors. This can definitely happen. I believe you when you say your dog is trained and obeys commands, but virtually any dog will resort to his instincts if something sets him off. Imagine if you were strolling through the park with your dog and suddenly he spotted a squirrel on the run. No doubt he would pursue the small critter, because that’s what they do. Animals can’t help, nor can they control their instincts half the time. This is why dog collars and leashes are imperative. Keep your K-9 on a leash and it will save you plenty of running and yelling.

It is much easier to build a rabbit cage than you might think.  Although commercially available rabbit cages do have some advantages, in general they are cruel and inhumane.  They have metal bars on the bottom that hurt the rabbit’s feet, and they do not give the bunny enough room to move around. If you build a rabbit cage, however, you can make it as big as you want.  You can even build a rabbit hutch outside with plenty of room for the rabbit to run all over the yard.

Dog gift baskets are very versatile so I decided to get creative with the project. I bought a wicker basket and put a pillow in it that I made. I found fabric that said “I love my mommy” on it. I then took a baby doll nightgown and cut the front open to the top panel. I sewed the edges so her feet were free. I also made an opening for her fluffy tail to curl up out of. Then I took doggie treats with the soft center and poked a hole up through it. Red and green ribbons added a little color. I made 6 of these and put them in a sleepy time tea box. I then took booties that I found for a baby doll and a nightcap that I attached a ribbon to for her head.
