I think I got ripped off. I bought an inexpensive bird cage online and it didn’t come with anything. It didn’t even come with a perch. So now I’m stuck finding accessories for this darn thing. I guess that’s what I get for being cheap. Where the heck am I suppose to find perches and ladders and cuttlebone. I’m so confused. I know there are sites that talk about what the best bird cage accessories are, but is there a way to purchase them all at once? I don’t want to have to shop around endlessly trying to find each individual item. And what are the bare essentials when it comes to cage accessories? Do I need to get everything? What is everything? I’m so confused.

I have a cute parakeet named Sprite and he’s getting big. I’ve had Sprite since he was really, really young. As a result, I’ve had him in the same cage for years. When you are finished with the first few instructions and you can see that you have a nice, sturdy piece, tear off one or two inches of a masking tape or duct tape to provide a covering for the staples in the milk carton.  Now overlap or cover the entire carton with the masking tape so none of the milk carton is showing.  To make it more sturdy and durable cover the entire carton with a shoe polish to make the paper harder.

When I was growing up, we never had wildlife feeders outside our home. Quite frankly, we didn’t need them. I lived in a relatively small town in the Midwest. We weren’t out in the country, but we had a river and a large open field behind our house, and lots of trees. So wildlife feeders would have been pretty unnecessary. All we had to do was to wander around outside and there was plenty of wildlife. When I moved into the city, however, things were much different. By the time I was 22, I had moved to a large city on the west coast. As a young person I never really realized how much I would miss my home until I was far away from it.
