A hypoallergenic dog might still put out allergens, but at a much lower level. A few dogs that take up less space, making them better for apartment living, are the Silky Terrier, the Havanese, and the Coton de Tulear. These dogs are all considered of the “Toy” size by the America Kennel Club.

Most people spend a lot of time and thought taking care of their pets, but probably few consider the dangers of lawn diseases to their pets. One such disease is a red thread lawn fungus which can seriously affect the allergies of any of your outdoor pets. Red thread is a disease that produces a redish/pink tinge on grass and is very common where there are cooler temperatures mixed with moisture. There are a great number of people who have allergies. It seems the numbers are increasing all the time. Allergies are something that you can develop at any time in your life, at times those that are developed as adults are more difficult to deal with than childhood reactions. People can develop allergies to anything from foods, to animals to plants. They do tend to be seasonal, unless you are allergic to molds or dust, which are always around us.

There are many things that can be done in the home environment of a person with allergies to help them be more comfortable. For a person that is allergic to dust and other airborne particles remove carpets. Carpeting can trap all sorts of allergens. Also purchase a good air purification system. There are many quality ones on the market today. It does pay to research the air purification system well before purchasing. There are some systems on the market that work very well, however they make so much noise it is difficult to have them running when you are in the same room with them. The main thing you want to insure in purchasing an air purification system is that it is affordable to maintain. Many of the machines that use filters have to have them changed on a regular basis to work properly. If the filters are high priced running this particular machine can get expensive. Also check to see how large of an area the air purification system can handle. For some units you need to have more than one unit in bigger spaces.

Rimadyl was introduced by Pfizer Pharmaceuticals in January 1997 to help treat dogs with inflammation and pain associated with surgery or canine arthritis.

Rimadyl is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) available as a prescription drug for dogs. The primary ingredient in Rimadyl is Carprofen. It is available as a caplet and chewable tablet and is given to dogs by mouth, or by injection administered by veterinarians. It has proven to be a successful means of relieving arthritis symptoms in dogs.

The Bichon Frise is classified as a part of the Non-Sporting Group by the American Kennel Club. The Bichon is a seven to thirteen pound dog that stands only nine to eleven inches tall.
