Anyone who has ever gone to a pet rescue center to adopt a pet knows that there’s always a risk involved. Many of these animals have been abused, abandoned, and even injured. It’s a pretty moving experience for any pet lover to walk the caged areas and try to select just a single animal and leave the others behind. By allowing the puppy we bring home as our new pet, to socialize with other socialized dogs and puppies of the same age, their dog training biting, can be picked up where they left off, when we seperated them from their litter mates and natural social pack.

Puppies love to roll, tumble and play with each other. During these playing sessions, they bite each other every where and anywhere, because that is their only means of ‘touching’ or ‘holding’ or ‘reaching out’ to each other. This is where they learn to inhibit their biting. This is where they learn to control themselves.

If they are too rough or rambunctious, they will soon find out through the reaction of the other dogs and puppies they are playing with. This is their natural training ground, and it is something we humans cannot accomplish that easily. They learn to inhibit their biting through trial and error. They learn from their own experience with other members of their social pack.

If we do not provide for this to happen, then we have to acquire the skill of dog training biting, and train the puppy ourselves, else have a problematic pet on our hands.

German Shepherds are easily identifiable by their large head, ears which stand straight up, wedge-shaped muzzle and compact legs.

So what dog breed is right for you? Large dog breeds? Small dog breeds? Is choosing the right dog breed important? Should you get the most popular dog breed or one that fits your lifestyle? It’s a fact that not all dogs are created equally, and it is also a fact that not all dogs meet the standards of their particular breed. People familiar with dogs know of the snappy traits of the Golden Retriever and the sweet, loving nature of the Newfoundland which goes against everything that you thought you knew about these gentle giants. And, as with anything else in life, there is always the exception to the rule, but thankfully, there are enough of the dogs that do follow their breed traits and standards to make them worth exploring when you are looking to bring a dog into your family.

It must be said that dog breed traits are just merely guidelines to aid you in evaluating the type of dog that will suit your needs but like people, dogs are individuals that have different personalities and temperaments so, dog breed traits may not fully nor adequately describe each individual dog. Adopt a puppy from the shelter

Why spend thousands of dollars on a Thoroughbred dog?

You want a high strung and neurotic mutt or one who will love you for saving him from euthenasia?

While I like all dogs and puppies, I find that a visit to a pet shelter tugs at my heartstrings. Most often, these dogs aren’t thoroughbreds, but what we commonly refer to as ‘mutts’, a mix of breeds. To my mind, these mutts are the best!

Just as many pet owners have said in the past, I knew that I found my perfect pet once I saw her. The dog rescue adoption organization opened its doors and the first animal I saw was the one for me. She is a mutt who has been though a lot but she is absolutely beautiful and very affectionate.

The great thing about this pet is that she is already trained and she has been tested by an animal behaviorist. I know that this pup will do well with my kids and I know that the rest of her days will be happy. There is nothing more rewarding than a loving pet from a dog rescue adoption program.
