Jack Russell Training
Jack Russell Training is not something you undertake lightly! As they have minds of their own, coupled with high intelligence, you will have your hands full trying to get this little fellow to follow your command and even worse, he may be conditioned to answer only to you and no-one else.
Be aware that these dogs need a backyard and lots of walks to burn off their bottomless supply of energy. If you have a bored or restless Jack Russell on your hands then you are asking for trouble as left to their own devices, they will create a real mess of your home and garden.
Unfortunately they can be rather aggressive towards other dogs and small creatures, other small pets such as rabbits don’t stand a chance.
They love digging and if your boundary fence isn’t set deep enough, he will escape. Also, even though Jack Russells are small, they can jump pretty high and if you think chain link fences are the answer, they can climb them with ease. If your gate has a latch, make sure it’s a good one as they can even open them.
His bark can be persistent and shrill and anything will get him vocalising his thoughts.
So what can we glean from these points? That unless a good thorough Jack Russell training program is set in motion from when he is a puppy, then you will have a tough time keeping this bundle of energy in check. But if you give him plenty of attention and lots of exercise, you won’t find a better friend.
