Last year was the first time that I attended a Halloween party. I dressed my 5 month old in a furry baby monkey costume, which kept her warm. My husband and I procrastinated a little too much when it came to our Halloween costumes. It would have been nice to do a jungle or animal theme to match our daughter, but because we waited too long, we were all something unrelated. I dressed up as Elvira and my husband was a snake charmer, with our baby monkey in our arms. This year is different, we are planning and ordering online instead of driving around and wasting gas.

Those of us who own a dog know the importance of understanding dog behavior. Our furry friends have the mentality of a 4 or 5 year old for their entire time on this earth. They act on their basic instincts, and unfortunately that is what most often gets them in hot water with their owners. Dogs will most always seize the opportunity to grab that stick of butter or loaf of bread you carelessly left within their reach. We must understand that this is rarely done with any type of motive or ill will intended. I am a big advocate of positive reinforcement rather than using physical punishment to correct a dogs mistakes. Most often a stern reprimand will suffice, but only if you catch them in the act. Another way to affect good behavior in your dog is to provide ongoing training. Don’t just do puppy obedience training, make it a life long process of learning for your dog. You will find that you can teach old dogs new tricks. Our dogs are a well spring of loyalty, love and never ending devotion. Dogs make wonderful pets, but they all must have training to quell their latent bad dog behavior tendencies. It’s best to start this training at an early age, because these bad habits just become harder to break, down the road. Understanding dog behavior will help us enjoy and appreciate man’s or woman’s “best friend”.

One of the first things you should look for when you are deciding what kind of Parrot Cages to buy is to find a cage that will fit your bird. Most bird store will recommend a bird cage that is way to small for your bird because the smaller the bird cage the cheaper the cage. That is not recommened. What you should do is get a large bird cage that is at least double the size of the wing span of your bird. A large dome cage is highly recommended.

Halloween has been traditionally a night for the parents and kids to go trick or treating from house to house in their neighborhood. Today it seems that the family pet is also coming along for the fun. If your dog is not used to wearing clothes, a costume to big can cause the animal to trip or the dog may try to wiggle out of it.

When I first heard about dog Halloween costumes I burst out laughing. Who would go to the bother of dressing up their family dog for Halloween? Ridiculous – pathetic, even – was my reaction. Dog fleas are a very common problem in households around the world. As many dogs go outside to play, they bring in fleas with them when they come inside. The type of dog brush you need depends on two thing; the coat of your pet and what you want the brush to accomplish.

If you have a curly haired or long haired breed, you may want to look into a slicker brush or even a coat rake. The slicker brush will remove dead hair, and is especially good for breeds that shed a lot, while the coat rake will is great for detangling on these breeds.
