What are Tapeworm Symptoms in Cats and Dogs
Symptoms that your pet may have tapeworm include inappropriate or difficult and frequent urination, appetite loss, listlessness, blood in the urine, or frequent licking of the genitals. Symptoms might include coughing and a potbellied appearance much like other dog worms symptoms. Weight loss may occur if your pet is heavily infected. An exceptionally severe infection manifests itself in symptoms like coughing, high temperature, pneumonia and heart and liver diseases. As the infection grows worse, the pet might exhibit a dull or rough coat and occasional diarrhea. These symptoms may occur even though the pet continues to eat as much, or more, than usual. This is because the tapeworm is interrupting a healthy digestive function, robbing the host pet of nutrition.
