Jack Russell Terrier

The original breeder of the Jack Russell Terrier was a young Oxford University Theologian student named John Russell. It is said that he once met a milk man who had a white terrier that had spots above his eyes and on his ears.  This proved to be his groundwork for breeding a new dog breed that became known as the Jack Russell.  The original dog was named “Trump” and he was the basis from which over 60 types of terrier were bred from.
Terrier came from the Latin term “terra” which means earth and the terrier’s basic nature is to dig and run over the earth.  Jack Russell’s have the character of hunter’s and love to dig and either bury a bone or treasure or dig one up that the buried some time ago.
