Article on Dog Gift Baskets
When I first heard about dog gift baskets, I was pretty irritated. It was my friend Amy who told me about it. Amy is a dear, and we have been good friends for many years, but in some ways she is one of the most annoying people on this planet. She loves anything cutesy, fluffy, frilly, or adorable. We are as different as night and day. When I asked her for suggestions for her birthday present, she told me to get a dog gift basket. When I looked incredulous, she patiently explained to me that she celebrated her dog’s birthday on the same day as her own. Getting a gift basket for dogs was the perfect way to make her happy by helping her celebrate the special day of her adorable little pet.

I knew that was what she wanted, but I wanted to get her something specifically tailored for her interests, not the interests of her dog. All dogs are basically alike. They all love squeaky toys, dog treats, ratty towels that they can play tug-of-war with, and sticks that they can catch, as well is anything smelly. One generic dog gift basket will do equally well for any dog that there is. It just seemed like a bad present to get.
