Animals For Adoption is a great idea for everyone who needs to fill a void in their life. Not everyone has had a chance to own a pet so animals for adoption is an ideal way for these people to experience what it’s like to have a pet in their ives.

In our home, pets have always been a very important part of our lives. My partner and I both grow up with pets in the home. I grow up on a remote property so not only did we have farm animals, we had native animals, working animals and some pretty strange pets that many people would not consider pets at all. Our pets ranged from snakes, tortoises, possums, and I also had a pet monkey. My father kept working cattle dogs to bring in the cows for milking and we used horses to herd the other animals from paddock to paddock. My partner’s family lived in a small town so they had dogs, cats, birds, fish and other more domestic animals. The family dog was rather large and most times he was housed outside in a kennel. Whenever it rained however the dog was allowed to move into the garage to keep himself dry. The cat was not allowed outside the house as it would chase the native birds around all day long and then go to the neighbors house and chase their chickens.

Labrador retrievers are one of the most popular breeds of dogs in the United States today, primarily because their friendly disposition makes them an excellent choice as a family pet. This dog was originally bred in Newfoundland, Canada, and was used by fisherman to jump into icy waters and pull up nets. These dogs turned up in England in the 1800′s, and this is where the retrieving instincts of the breed were sharpened. Today, in addition to being a popular family dog, the Labrador retriever is used as a service dog for the disabled and as a drug detector for law enforcement organizations.
