Animals For Adoption – In Need Of Some Love

Animals For Adoption is a great idea for everyone who needs to fill a void in their life. Not everyone has had a chance to own a pet so animals for adoption is an ideal way for these people to experience what it’s like to have a pet in their ives.

In our home, pets have always been a very important part of our lives. My partner and I both grow up with pets in the home. I grow up on a remote property so not only did we have farm animals, we had native animals, working animals and some pretty strange pets that many people would not consider pets at all. Our pets ranged from snakes, tortoises, possums, and I also had a pet monkey. My father kept working cattle dogs to bring in the cows for milking and we used horses to herd the other animals from paddock to paddock. My partner’s family lived in a small town so they had dogs, cats, birds, fish and other more domestic animals. The family dog was rather large and most times he was housed outside in a kennel. Whenever it rained however the dog was allowed to move into the garage to keep himself dry. The cat was not allowed outside the house as it would chase the native birds around all day long and then go to the neighbors house and chase their chickens.

The Basics of Labrador Puppy Care | Dog Whisperer

Labrador retrievers are one of the most popular breeds of dogs in the United States today, primarily because their friendly disposition makes them an excellent choice as a family pet. This dog was originally bred in Newfoundland, Canada, and was used by fisherman to jump into icy waters and pull up nets. These dogs turned up in England in the 1800′s, and this is where the retrieving instincts of the breed were sharpened. Today, in addition to being a popular family dog, the Labrador retriever is used as a service dog for the disabled and as a drug detector for law enforcement organizations.

Cat Care 101: Keeping Your Cat Healthy and Your Home Clean

There’s no question that our cats are full-fledged family members. Their loyalty, their love, and their ability to comfort us are unparalleled. Sometimes, though, their hair or odors can leave an unwelcome footprint in our homes. Just as we clean up the spills made by our kids (or our spouses!), it’s up to us to clean up after our cats. Luckily, there are any number of products that make pet care a breeze.

Shedding Tools

Many people who love cats are troubled by allergies, or by the cat hair that clings to furniture and clothes. Products that help with shedding take one of two approaches: either they work at the source of the problem (your furry feline) or they make it a snap to clean up hair off of furniture.

Cats typically shed their undercoat (rather than the hair you see), so a product that helps you remove hair from your pet – a “furminator” of sorts – means you’ll never see it on your couch. These products brush out the dead hair from the undercoat (but don’t cut it), while bringing your cat’s natural oils to the surface. Because this type of product also helps stops over zealous self-cleaning, your cat may be less likely to be bothered by hairballs.

Find the Right Pet Carrier to Fit Your (and Your Pet’s) Lifestyle

Wheeled Pet Carriers

Whether you’re going for a neighborhood stroll or walking through an airport, you need a wheeled pet carrier or pet stroller. The main difference between a wheeled pet carrier and a pet stroller is that the carrier more closely resembles a mesh suitcase on wheels and the stroller resembles a baby stroller. Many carriers and strollers come in two or three sizes, with weight limits ranging from 8 pounds to 60 pounds. Some wheeled pet carriers are multi-purpose, and convert to car seats, backpacks, and pet beds. Others are suitable for carrying more than one pet at a time, which you might do for trips to the vet or to pet shows. These usually have two removable carriers that stack on top of one another in a stroller assembly.

Small Pet Carriers

Pet carriers for small animals like cats, rabbits, and ferrets allow you to keep your furry family member close to you. Best of all, small pet carriers come in a variety of styles, such as purses, backpacks and front packs.
